21 SEPTEMBER 2013
12 large Cruise Ships allowed to cross San Marco Bay in a row !
While the summer debate got inflamed about banning large Cruise Ships from San Marco Bay and the Lagoon altogether and concerns were vented about possible alternative routes and number limitation for the crossing;
While the risks that emerged from the Carneval Sunshine Cruise Ship getting too close to Sette Martiri Quay last July made all sensitive hearts and minds shiver;
ONE WOULD HAVE EXPECTED VENICE PORT AUTHORITIES (VTP & APV) TO ADOPT A MORE PRUDENTIAL MOOD. Far from so! Blatantly they awarded permit, instead, to 12 large Cruise Ships to cross the Bay on the same day !!! ENOUGH OF THIS.
There will be a rally in protest against the crossing on Saturday 21 September starting at 2:30 pm at le Zattere with drink, food, music, posters and more.
